What "On Track" Means

Being on track isn't about hitting one magic number — it's about whether your future income will cover the lifestyle you want. This quiz compares the income your plan is likely to produce against a share of your current pay, and tells you how close you are.

Your Income Goal

Most plans aim to replace roughly 70–85% of pre-retirement income, since some costs (commuting, saving itself) fall away. The quiz defaults to 80% and lets you change it.

Where It Comes From

Retirement income usually blends three sources: withdrawals from your portfolio, Social Security, and any pension or annuity. The quiz adds them together.

Growing Your Savings

Today's balance plus steady contributions compound over the years until you retire. The projection works in today's dollars so the comparison is apples-to-apples.

Closing a Gap

If there's a shortfall, there are only a few levers: save more, work a little longer, or adjust the goal. The quiz shows what each would take.
